Head of Delivery Manchester remote (work from home)

Head of Delivery 

Your primary responsibility will be to build strong working relationships with our clients so that you can coordinate the activity across internal and external teams. Ensuring that critical path activities are understood and delivered on. Working on multiple time horizons you will communicate progress on things currently with the squads for delivery and be working with the clients to ensure enough work is being prepared to keep the squads fully utilised. You will manage handoff between squads ensuring minimal wait times. There may be an occasional requirement to have out of hours discussions with our client’s customers who are based in different time zones. 

 

Job knowledge and experience 

  • This is a client facing role so the experience of building excellent relationships is essential, in order to seek out opportunities to up sell and cross sell our services. The ability to manage the client and at times our client’s customers, managing expectation and where necessary coordinate their activity 
  • Coordinate activity across multiple squads to ensure squads are fully utilised and things do not fall between the gap where handoffs exist 
  • Clearly communicate project status to all relevant stakeholders 
  • Build good relationships with the team 
  • Supporting new business development opportunities 
  • Line management of squad line managers – appreciation, coaching, evaluation 
  • Project mgmt. – Manage scope creep but embrace change, clearly communicate timelines and progress, solve problems or escalate where necessary, track critical path deadlines and provide reporting metrics 
  • Coordinate activity for the delivery of projects across the development team  
  • Knowing the skills of the team and matching skills to the tasks  
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects at the same time 
  • Worked to Agile principles 

 

Technical skills 

  • Interpreting the overall plan and joining the dots so that the team can deliver the detailed plan 
  • Agile culture clearly focused on Quality and continuous improvement  
  • Knowledge of Kanban methodology and processes 
  • Able to engage with a technical team to get work completed to the right standards 
  • Experience of System migration projects will be essential  
  • Experience of working in successful multi squad development environment 
  • Knowledge of the Energy industry 
  • AWS business accreditation

This role is top priority and we are looking to appoint a Head of Delivery  ASAP 

Whilst Head office is based in Manchester, this role is a remote (work from home) role and we will accept applicants form anywhere in the UK.
